Drainage Projects

Hello everyone! Hope the winter season has not been too awfully hard on everyone. As you may have seen from our previous post that we have been busy here at Roland Outdoor with the above average snow precipitation this year. We have also experienced our first thunderstorms of the season last weekend, which led me to think that spring is on the way and some of you may be experiencing drainage problems.

Drainage issues can cause a significant amount of damage to a property, if left unattended. In some situations, you may have a drainage problem and not even realize it. Let one of our professionals come and take a look if you have experienced any drainage issues related to the foundation of your home or lawn areas.

The following are pictures of a client of ours that was having a major issue with runoff water and it collecting into the home.

This picture is of the drainage issue before we started. There are quite a few lawns that drain into a common area, with the clients home located at the end. During heavy rains, the runoff water would come up the 3rd row of the brick and seep into the home.

This picture is of the finished product. You can see that we installed 2-catch basins that are 18 inches in diameter that collect excess water and drain it away with 8 inch diameter pipe on each basin. We used the excess soil from installing the catch basins and pipe and built a retention basin to collect the water and channel it to the catch basins.

This picture shows how much water is shed to the property and without the installed catch basins and retention soil, it would channel into the building. The second basin is not being used at this time, but with a heavy rain it will be utilized. We graded and seeded the lawn once we compleded the drainage work, so they would have their nice lawn back to normal.

If your having issues with water in your lawn or along your foundation, please give us a call. We will come by and take a look at your problem and work towards a practical solution.
